David's Bio:
David is one of VFOR’s co-founders and currently serves as VFOR’s Executive Director. David is a native of Waterbury and a graduate of Harwood Union High School. He is currently employed as the Hotel Operations and Special Projects Manager for Champlain Housing Trust. David is also a person in recovery since January, 2007. He became involved in recovery housing in 2008, when he began renting his own home to others recovering from Substance Use Disorder. David realized that there is a great need for safe, transparent, well-managed, recovery housing throughout Vermont, and hopes to provide this service. To further this effort David helped to bring an affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences to Vermont in 2019 as a founding board member. The Vermont Alliance for Recovery Residences (VTARR) has a mission to support those in recovery from Substance Use Disorders by improving access to Recovery Residences through established standards, a fair and transparent certification process, community engagement, education, technical assistance, research, and advocacy. David was also a founding board member of Step Into Action-VT, an organization with a mission to empower Vermont community members to celebrate recovery from substance use.
