Why Support VFOR?

Recovery is more than overcoming addiction – it’s about building a stable, fulfilling life. At Vermont Foundations of Recovery (VFOR), we provide safe, structured, peer-supported housing that helps individuals regain stability and move forward with confidence. Without access to stable housing, long-term recovery becomes far more challenging. Your support ensures that more Vermonters have the foundations they need to heal and thrive.

VFOR is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to expanding access to recovery housing across Vermont. Our certified recovery residences offer structure, accountability, and a supportive community to help individuals transition into independent living. As a nonprofit, we rely on donations, grants, and partnerships to sustain and grow our impact. Every contribution provides safe housing, essential recovery resources, and peer mentorship, creating lasting opportunities for those in need. Together, we make recovery possible.

“I didn’t have a car, I didn’t have a job, and I was like, how am I going to navigate all of this?

Now I’ve bought a new car, I’m trying to buy a home, I’m getting into a master’s program, and continuing to work on getting
custody of my kids back.

Without VFOR’s direction and navigation, I wouldn’t have built a community here and I don’t know that I’d still be sober.”

When savings related to healthcare are included, total savings can exceed costs by a ratio of 12 to 1. Major savings to the individual and society also stem from fewer interpersonal conflicts; greater workplace productivity; and fewer drug-related accidents, including overdoses and deaths.” – National Institute of Drug Abuse
